The Design
A robust and precise design was modeled in AutoCAD inventor. Major components include the blade holder, linear rail, rail stop, guide rail, and blade cover.
Machining
Design drawings were sent to a machine shop for initial testing and final hardware.
Final Product
With a 9x9 inch cutting surface, the final product allows for precision work with the aid of the linear and guide rails. Composites up to 0.3mm thick, foams and textiles can be cut to within 0.4mm precision.
